1. What is the APRA Methodology?

Integrated Agricultural Plastic Rapid Assessment (APRA) is a standardized assessment instrument designed to map the consumption, usage patterns, degradation, and environmental leakage of agricultural plastics into soils, waterways, and the atmosphere through open burning.

2. The Three Assessment Questionnaire Pillars

  • Form 1 (Farm Profile & Plastic Flows): Records farm characteristics, crop commodities, types of plastics purchased (mulch film, polypropylene cords, pesticide containers, fertilizer sacks), and percentage distribution across terminal fates.
  • Form 2 (Field Visual Observation Unit): Assesses physical accumulation in active plots, fallow fields, and drainage canals, evaluating brittleness (fragmentation degree) and direct environmental pathways to water bodies.
  • Form 3 (Institutional Waste Management Survey): Catalogs village waste collection capacity, TPS3R facilities, waste banks, and producer take-back schemes.

3. Step-by-Step Platform Workflow Overview

  1. Register an account and await Super Admin activation.
  2. Once activated, navigate to Farm Surveys (Form 1 & 2).
  3. Click + Add Farm Location to initialize a new survey draft.
  4. Complete the farm profile, then inventory all plastic items used annually.
  5. Switch to the observation units tab and record at least one visual observation unit (Form 2) with field photo evidence.
  6. Submit the survey for Reviewer evaluation.
  7. Track review status and explore mass flow data on the 📊 Sankey Visualization page.
🎯 Expected Results
Users understand the 3 APRA assessment questionnaire forms (Farm Profile, Observation Unit, and Institution) and the objective of tracking plastic leakage into the environment.
⚠️ Common Pitfalls & Troubleshooting
Assuming APRA is a standard agricultural production census. Correction: APRA focuses on plastic mass balance, operational lifespan, and environmental leakage risks.
🔒 Security & Data Privacy Notice
The application isolates survey data between surveyors. You can only view data you created or official demo simulation data.
